Wharenoho Raumati | Summer Accommodation

Current University of Auckland students (or individuals from other Universities doing a project or research with UoA) can apply to stay in our self-catered accommodation during the summer period.

If you are not a current tertiary student please direct your summer accommodation enquiries to summerstays@auckland.ac.nz or visit the Summer Stays website.

  • Summer Accommodation end dates are fixed to allow for room turnovers for the start of the 2021 academic residential period. Any requests to extend summer bookings may be declined unless students have a confirmed 2021 agreement for the same residence & room type.
  • Summer accommodation bookings do not include membership to the University Recreation Centre.

55 Symonds

55 Symonds is located on the corner of Symonds and Wakefield street, and only a short walk from Downtown Auckland and the City and Grafton Campuses. Summer residents have access to the communal facilities including a kitchen & lounge, deck area and games, music and bookable study room.

You'll stay in a self contained Studio Deluxe, each comfortably furnished with an ensuite bathroom

Catering

Each apartment is furnished with a galley-style kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave, cook top and kettle. A basic kitchen pack is provided. A large communal kitchen is available for group events.

Carlaw Park Student Village

Carlaw Park is located next to the Auckland Domain and only a short walk from Parnell, Spark Arena, Downtown Auckland and the City and Grafton Campuses. Summer residents have access to the communal facilities including a kitchen & lounge, deck area and games, music and study room.

Rooms

You'll stay in a single bedroom, in a fully-furnished three or four bedroom apartment. Each apartment has a bathroom with a dual vanity and shower and separate lockable toilet.

Catering

Each apartment is furnished with a galley-style kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave, oven and kettle. A basic kitchen pack is provided. A large communal kitchen is available for group events.

No parking is available onsite, however, there is a Wilson's Carpark nearby.

Te Tirohanga o te Tōangaroa

Te Tirohanga is located on the City Campus, only a short walk away from the University General Library, and offers single study bedrooms designed to maximise on storage space, and modern, spacious communal living levels.

Rooms

You'll stay in a furnished single study bedroom, with multiple single occupant bathrooms on every floor, each with a shower, toilet and handbasin/vanity.

Catering

Te Tirohanga offers shared kitchen and dining spaces over two levels. Each kitchen includes gas hobs, ovens, microwaves, toasters and kettles.

  • Skydeck on level 10 with barbecue available.

University Hall - Apartments

University Hall - Apartments are located on the City Campus, only a short walk away from the University General Library. Summer residents are in close proximity to K'Rd and Queen Street, the heart of Auckland Central, and also convenient to main arterial bus routes making travelling around Auckland quick and easy.

You'll stay in a single bedroom, in a fully-furnished four or five bedroom apartment. Each apartment has a bathroom with a dual vanity, a separate lockable shower and a separate lockable toilet.

Catering

Each apartment is furnished with a  kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave, oven and kettle. A basic kitchen pack is provided.

Summer School students

Those enrolled at the University of Auckland for Summer School can apply to live at Whitaker Block for the duration of their summer school course.

  • Proof of enrolment is required at the time of booking. Spaces are strictly limited and allocated on a first in first served basis.
