Academic integrity responsibilities

All members of the University community have a responsibility to understand and act in a way that supports the concepts and values of academic integrity.  Academic staff have a responsibility to promote academic integrity and to identify and report misconduct.

Ranga Auaha Ako | Learning and Teaching Design Team have developed guidelines for staff to incorporate principles of academic integrity into course design.

The University encourages teaching staff to include a statement relating to academic integrity in all assessments. The TeachWell website provides a declaration that can modified to suit different faculty needs.

The Academic Integrity Course is an online course for all new students designed to increase knowledge of academic integrity, university rules relating to academic conduct, and the identification and consequences of academic misconduct.

Turnitin

Turnitin is electronic plagiarism prevention and detection software used in many courses across the University.  Turnitin integrates with Canvas and staff my find information on using Turnitin with Canvas on the website.
