What to do when things change

  1. Changing a doctoral thesis title: You can usually make minor changes to your thesis title without difficulty, for example spellings and rewordings. Changes that represent a change to your research focus may be more complex. Read more.

  2. Doctoral supervision changes: In situations where your supervisory team needs to be changed for academic or resourcing-related reasons, the process will be initiated by your current academic head. Read more.

  3. Doctoral extension: If extenuating circumstances arise during your doctoral degree and you find that you need a little more time, you can apply for an extension of enrolment after your fourth year of full-time enrolment. Read more.

  4. Doctoral suspension: You can apply for a suspension of enrolment if extenuating circumstances arise during your doctoral degree and you need a break from study. Read more.

  5. Off-campus doctoral research: If you wish to undertake research away from campus for between one month and one year, you must obtain approval in advance. Read more.
