University of Auckland Kōkiri Raumati Scholarship

This Scholarship is available to students taking part in the Summer Start, Tōia ki Waipapa and UniBound programmes beginning in January 2024.

What does the scholarship cover?

The scholarship covers the cost of accommodation in Waipārūrū Hall for the duration of Summer School 2024.

This hall is for school leavers, and is located a short walk from the City Campus, and the city centre.

Each room has a king single bed, bedside table, wardrobe, desk, chair, noticeboard, mirror and air-conditioning/heating unit. Utilities are included.

Staying in the hall will give you a taste of undergraduate life in the central city, in a safe location with student services on hand.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand
  • normally live outside the Auckland metropolitan area or within the Auckland metropolitan area where travelling time and/or distance to campus would be disproportionally disadvantageous to you
  • be enrolled in Year 13 at a New Zealand secondary school or kura in 2023, or were enrolled in Year 13 in 2022, or have taken a gap year in 2023
  • have registered for either the Summer Start, Tōia ki Waipapa or UniBound programmes for Summer School 2024
  • be planning to enrol full-time in an undergraduate degree at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland in Semester One 2024

How do I apply?

First you need to register your interest in one of the three Summer School programmes:

 

 
You'll also need to apply for accommodation for Summer School.
 
Once you've completed those three steps, you're ready to apply for the Scholarship.
 
Applications for 2024 open on 21 September 2023 and close on 2 November 2023.
