University of Auckland Kōkiri Raumati Scholarship
This Scholarship is available to students taking part in the Summer Start, Tōia ki Waipapa and UniBound programmes beginning in January 2026.
Value
Awards are made in two different tiers:
Tier 1
- Catered accommodation in a Hall of Residence for the duration of Summer School 2026
- Compulsory tuition fees for enrolment in either the Summer Start, Tōia ki Waipapa, or UniBound programme
Tier 2
- Compulsory tuition fees for enrolment in either the Summer Start, Tōia ki Waipapa, or UniBound programme
Accommodation benefits
- Halls of Residnece are in close proximity or within a 15 minute walk from the City, Grafton and Newmarket campuses
- The Hall of Residence will offer catering, your own room, a range of activities and events, academic mentoring programmes and pastoral care.
- Free membership to the University Recreation facilities on the City Campus
Am I eligible?
You are eligible to apply if you are:
- a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
- enrolled in Year 13 at a New Zealand secondary school or kura in 2025, or were enrolled in Year 13 in 2024, or have taken a gap year in 2025
- have registered for either the Summer Start, Tōia ki Waipapa or UniBound programmes for Summer School 2026
- be planning to enrol in undergraduate or Foundation level study at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland in 2026
Applying for a scholarship
First you need to apply for admission to one of the three Summer School programmes:
Then you can apply for the Scholarship.
In the application form you will be asked to tell us about you and how receiving the scholarship would benefit you. You can find more information in the regulations (see above).
Remember to save your application as you go, and once all sections are 100% you can submit your application.
Applications for 2026 will open on 6 August and close on 29 October 2025.
