Postgraduate study in Music Education

What can you study in Music Education?

The School of Music offers Music Education within the Bachelor of Music (Honours), Postgraduate Certificate in Music, Postgraduate Diploma in Music, Master of Music and the PhD in Music.

All Music Education courses focus on equity, inclusiveness and engagement to acknowledge our students' various paths into music-making and their current level of involvement in music education. We also offer several courses as online, blended-delivery options that suit those who are unable to travel to our Auckland City Campus.

Our practical workshops will immerse you in contemporary pedagogical approaches, fostering an appreciation for a wide range of music-making practices. You will develop your research capacity and skills through in-depth engagement with current theory, research, and individual research projects undertaken with appropriate guidance and supervision.
