Which accommodation is right for me?
If you are a school leaver
You are likely to be best suited to first-year school leaver halls if you are:
- 17-19 years old
- Completing, or have recently completed, high school in the past two years
- Starting university for the first time
First-year school leaver halls include meals, academic support, shared study spaces, social activities and a strong residential community.
If you are not a school leaver
You are likely to be best suited to undergraduate or postgraduate accommodation if you are:
- A returning or new undergraduate student 19+ years old
- A postgraduate or PhD student
- A 19+ year old international student
- Applying as a couple or family
- Interested in flat, studio or apartment-style accommodation
These accommodation options give you more independence while still keeping you close to campus.
First-year school leaver halls
First-year school leaver halls are designed for students starting university for the first time. They provide meals, shared facilities, academic mentoring and a programme of events to help you settle into university life.
For school leavers interested in a self-catered property, consider University Hall Apartments. Please note you must be 18 years old as of the residential agreement start date to reside here.

Undergraduate and postgraduate residences
Undergraduate and postgraduate accommodation options are designed for students who want more independent living. Options include shared flats, studios, apartments and accommodation for couples and families.
Some residences offer group applications for students who want to live with friends in three to five-bedroom flats.
Some residences also offer housing for Couples and families.
