About exams

At the University of Auckland, there are four different modes of exams.

When we use mode, mode means the way in which you will complete your exam such as online or in-person.

Most exams are online and non-invigilated. There are, however, a number of exams that are taking place:

  • In-person, on campus; both paper-based and Inspera Assessment
  • Online using digital invigilation (Inspera Integrity Browser, previously Inspera Exam Portal)

How you will access your exam depends on the mode of your exam. It’s important that you check the mode used for each of your exams.

To check the mode of your exam

You can find your exam mode on the semester exam timetable below:

You can find more information regarding invigilated examinations below:

  • Exam mode D - In-person invigilated exam on computer

Please note, you will receive a text message the day before your exam takes place. If you have an on-campus exam, this will include your exam room number.
