Cigarettes and other drugs

Smoking, vaping and the use of other drugs can have serious effects on your health.

Smoking

The University of Auckland is proud to be a smokefree and vapefree campus, however we recognise and understand that giving up cigarettes and vapes isn't always easy.

If you're ready to stop and are looking for help, try SmokeFree.org

Other drugs

Here at University we realise that students are growing up in a world where drugs exist, and that many people of all ages will be in situations where they must decide if they will try them or not.

Like alcohol, excessive drug use can take a toll on your wellbeing, and affect your ability to thrive academically and socially. If you are worried about your drug use, or the habits of a friend, visit the NZ Drug Foundation.

Looking after yourself

If you find yourself struggling with drug dependency and use, and need support on campus,  contact Student Health and Counselling.

The University can also refer students to Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS), who offer a range of free services, to anybody wanting to solve an alcohol or drug related question, issue or problem.
