The University of Auckland offers a range of accommodation options for study abroad and exchange students to suit your preferences and budget.

University accommodation

Living in University accommodation is a great way to immerse yourself in campus life as you adjust to a new environment. From single rooms in shared apartments to private studios, our self-catered and catered residences offer students the opportunity to live within our thriving campus community. Benefits include:

Please note that we cannot guarantee University accommodation for couples or families. If you'd prefer to live in private accommodation in Auckland, we can still help you find a place to call home.

Fees are quoted in NZD as of 2021 and do not include any one-time service fees. Where optional meal plans are available, these are an additional weekly rate.

Application deadlines

We encourage you to apply for accommodation as soon as applications open, even if you have not yet completed your application to study at the University of Auckland. This will help to ensure you are placed in your preferred accommodation option.

The accommodation office will still attempt to place students in University housing even after deadlines have passed, however a place cannot be guaranteed.
