Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland offers hundreds of scholarships every year to new students embarking on undergraduate study.

As well as the scholarships funded by the University, some faculties and generous donors also provide a wide range of scholarships for new undergraduate students.

Scholarships can make a big difference when you’re starting university. Depending on what you’re awarded, they can help cover things like accommodation, tuition fees, or other costs. This could mean a smaller student loan, less need for a part-time job, or even making it possible for you to study in the first place.

Before you apply for any scholarships, you’ll need to apply for at least one programme at the University of Auckland. Don’t stress if you’re not 100% sure what you want to study yet—you can always change or add programmes later.

After you submit your application for admission, you’ll be able to log into the scholarship system (Community Force) within 24 hours. If you’re applying close to the deadline, the system might be slower than usual because lots of people
will be using it at the same time.

It’s a good idea to apply for every scholarship you think you might be eligible for.

When you’re ready to apply, go to the scholarship page and click the blue “Apply now” button (it will only show when applications are open).
