March Recruitment Season

March marks the beginning of New Zealand’s annual legal recruitment season.

This is a key period for law students preparing to apply for summer and winter clerkships, internships, and graduate roles. Throughout this season, law firms across the country open their applications and actively engage with students, particularly those in their penultimate year.

At Auckland Law School, many of these firms will be on campus to meet students, discuss their practice areas, and provide insight into what they look for in prospective clerks and graduates. This is your opportunity to meet employers, learn about different areas of law, and gain a clearer sense of what firms look for in their candidates.

Law Career Guide

To support your preparation, the Law Career Guide is now available. Each year, firms contribute profiles of their summer clerks and junior solicitors, offering insight into their culture, work, and professional development opportunities.

The guide also includes practical advice to help you navigate the process with confidence.

March Calendar of Events

We have also released the March Calendar of Events, which includes employer presentations, workshops, and networking sessions. These events are designed to help you build connections and deepen your understanding of the profession.
