The first year of your Engineering programme will include a set of compulsory courses that are the same for all students; this includes the faculty Waipapa Taumata Rau course, WTRENG 100.
Programme structure differs depending on the Engineering specialisation you choose from Part II onwards. To find out more about how to structure your Engineering study, see conjoint degrees.
The BCom component comprises eight compulsory courses: six Stage I core courses, one Stage II core course and one Stage III capstone course. The Stage I core introduces you to different areas of business and provides a foundation for your chosen major or majors. You are strongly encouraged to complete the Stage I core courses before progressing to the courses required for your major or majors. Explore the range of BCom majors and related career opportunities.
Completing two majors in the BCom component may require additional points and may extend the time needed to complete the conjoint programme.

Note: STATS 108 is not required in the BCom/BE(Hons) programme.
You would usually enrol in nine 15-point courses (135 points) each year if you want to complete in five years. You need to maintain a Grade Point Average of 4.0 each year to continue with your BCom/BE(Hons) conjoint.
All students completing a conjoint are encouraged to contact a Student Hub to discuss their study options in terms of prerequisite requirements and the higher workload associated with conjoint programmes.
