Society of Construction Law masterclass series
About the New Zealand Society of Construction Law
The New Zealand Society of Construction Law was established in 2005 to support learning, discussion, and research in construction law, bringing people from across the industry together to explore issues in the field. It operates as an interest group rather than a professional body, so members don’t need to hold any formal qualifications. As of November 2023, the Society reached 1,000 members, representing a wide range of roles within the construction sector, including lawyers, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, project managers, insurers and academics.
The Society is also working closely with the Law School to support students who are interested in construction law. Through this collaboration, members meet with students, share insights about the industry, and talk about the different career pathways available. These sessions give students a chance to hear directly from practitioners, ask questions and build connections with people working across the construction sector.
