Welcome to the Auckland Law School
Students share their experiences studying at the Auckland Law School.
Welcome to New Zealand's largest law faculty. Law at Auckland is challenging, exciting and taught by some of the best-known legal scholars in the country. We teach students how to think critically, how to analyse and to persuade by logical argument.
We are the top-ranked law school in New Zealand and one of the best law schools in the world, ranked 36 globally according to the QS World University Rankings in 2017.
You are an international student if you are not a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand or Australia.
Future undergraduates can apply for LLB Part I or LLB Part II. You may be able to take an approved combination of two degrees as part of a conjoint programme. Overseas law graduates wishing to practise law in New Zealand can study courses as recommended by the New Zealand Council of Legal Education (NZCLE) through the Graduate Diploma in Law or Graduate Certificate in Law.
For postgraduate students we offer taught and research programmes in Masters in Law for the following specialisations - Commercial and Corporate Law, Public Law, Environmental Law, Human Rights Law, International Law, Litigation and Dispute Resolution.
The faculty also offers Master of Legal Studies and Master of Taxation Studies. Students can also apply to undertake their PhD.
