Facilities and resources
You’ll find that the School of Music is well equipped with a number of teaching and rehearsal spaces, and several composition and recording studios.
There is a lot on offer in terms of facilities and resources at the School of Music. As well as plenty of teaching and rehearsal spaces at its main Symonds Street building, there are additional studios, practice spaces and recording facilities located at the Kenneth Myers Centre (KMC) on Shortland Street.
KMC is used for the teaching and learning of jazz, popular music, sound and dance. There are many exciting opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Other special resources
Music Theatre
The 155-seat Music Theatre, which has excellent acoustics and a sophisticated lighting system, can be used as a performance space for dramatic productions, music lectures, concerts and rehearsals.
