“I decided to study the Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) programme as the ECE sector is where I have always seen myself working. After being a stay at home dad for two years and then the pandemic hitting, I felt like it was the right time to get started.

“Being an Early Childhood Teacher is one of the first things I can remember wanting to do. Being able to be part of a team that creates a safe and caring environment for tamariki, while aiding and encouraging their development is an exciting and fascinating role to be in.

The best part of the practical placements is getting to work and learn alongside
tamariki, they have the most fascinating outlooks on life and questions to keep
you on your toes.

“What I have enjoyed most about the programme is meeting and working alongside all the other like-minded people who feel as passionate about ECE as I do. The best part of the practical placements is getting to work and learn alongside tamariki, they have the most fascinating outlooks on life and questions to keep you on your toes. No two days are the same.

"I'd definitely recommend studying this programme. The teaching team are experienced, knowledgeable and have a passion for teaching making it an exciting place to learn. I think anyone who's ever thought about teaching but hasn't been sure of how to get into it, this is a great way to get started"
