Key facts

Programme: Master of Conflict and Terrorism Studies

"Part of what inspired me to study for the Master of Conflict and Terrorism Studies came from my bachelors degree where I looked at the topics of conflict and ethnolinguistic fractionalisation. I also wanted to gain knowledge and understanding with regards to political violence and terrorism — particularly following the terrorist attack in 2011 in Norway.

"I have a background in Political Science, European and Latin American Studies, Spanish and Criminology. The Master of Conflict and Terrorism Studies is an interdisciplinary programme and as such, I've been able to continue to draw from and explore my previous studies.

I have always wanted to work in international and transnational crime, in organizations such as INTERPOL.

"The Faculty of Arts is a great place to be a postgraduate student. You receive so much help and support from their staff, and their postgraduate lounge is a perfect place to study. Along with the interdisciplinary nature of the programme, there are great networking and learning events where students can meet guest lecturers and academics.

"As an international student, I understand that travelling to a distant country often involves a more difficult decision than choosing a domestic degree. Auckland is a wonderful city to study in, with great culture, atmosphere and people. Moreover, New Zealand is truly remarkable — the beauty of the nature and the travelling is a big bonus.
