Dual Masters with Beijing Dance Academy

Dance Studies at University of Auckland has developed a dual Masters of Community Dance and Dance Education in partnership with Beijing Dance Academy (BDA), China. Students complete three years of study and gain two masters degrees.

The first year of study includes taught masters course work at BDA, Beijing. Students then live and study in Auckland, New Zealand, completing a one-year community dance research thesis, in English. On completion, the students return to China to complete a one-year dance education thesis in Chinese.

The first cohort of students commenced the dual masters in 2015. These students then completed their masters research work in community dance at University of Auckland. In 2016, the second cohort of students commenced the dual Masters programme in Beijing.

Admission:
Students will fulfil the standard admission requirements to both the Masters of Community Dance at University of Auckland and Masters in Dance Education at Beijing Dance Academy. All applicants to the dual masters programme within China must apply through the BDA to both degrees.
