Ranking and reputation

We’re proudly recognised as New Zealand's world-ranked Faculty of Education and Social Work.

Top of the class

The latest international QS World University Rankings place the University of Auckland well ahead of its competitors for Education as a subject. Ranked at 17th in the world, we are the only New Zealand university to feature in the top 100. This matters for us and our students because one of the ranking criteria is employer reputation where we are the leading university in New Zealand. We are the top provider of employable, high-quality graduates in New Zealand.

More about employer reputation

The QS Employer Reputation survey is one component of an overall QS World University Ranking. This section of the survey is calculated using the following:

  • An extensive database of employers in key markets all over the world, accumulated over 20 years
  • Partner organisations such as media agencies and job portals
  • Lists of employers supplied by universities, with submissions screened to limit the risk of bias
  • A database of previous respondents to the survey
