The University is committed to continuing to provide student support while students are studying from home. Find out how Faculty of Education and Social Work students can access support services from home.

Health and counselling at Epsom Campus

Health and counselling services will continue at Epsom Campus (Building 6ER, Gate 4) throughout the lockdown, as an essential service. Health staff (GP and nurse) will be available from 9am–1pm on Mondays, and counsellors will be available from 9am–3pm on Mondays.

The University Health and Counselling Service is also providing virtual counselling services to all students on Monday–Fridays. If you need to book an appointment please do not come into the practice; instead call us on 0800 698 427 to arrange this.

Pasifika Success

All Tuakaqu Mentors will be available for Zoom support sessions and contactable via email for academic and pastoral support. If you have a mentor, you will receive an email from them about this shortly. Contact us through our Facebook page or email to ask questions at any time.

Te Korowai Atawhai

Primary mathematics support tutor

You can get assistance from your personal primary mathematics support tutor, Angela Spavin. If you would like to discuss number sense, build confidence, seek lecture and exam support, or get help with eliminating worries that interfere with your maths performance, make an appointment. University Health and Counselling

As we move into Level 4, our waiting room will be closed, please do not turn up at UHCS. We will provide medical and counselling appointments – these will be mostly virtual and phone consultations to ensure we are practicing the appropriate social distancing. Please contact us via 0800 698 427 to discuss your needs with our team.

  • All non-essential appointments will be cancelled until we progress down the levels (for things such as smears.)
  • For essential appointments, we will be operating via phone, virtual consultations and virtual counselling sessions. We will continue with face to face consultations only where appropriate and booked by a doctor
  • Please note the same charges apply to virtual consults with nurses or doctors
  • Prescriptions will continue to be administered. Patients who need a repeat prescription will be assessed via a phone consultation, or if deemed appropriate issued a repeat without a consultation. Prescriptions will be sent directly to your preferred pharmacy for collection.
  • Please allow 3 working days for prescriptions to be processed, you will need to have the details of your preferred pharmacy.
  • Counselling appointments will now be delivered by zoom or phone, unless the Lead Counsellor determines that a face to face consultation is required. In this instance, access to the clinic will be treated in the same way as all other arrivals (nurse triage by phone prior to access being granted).
