NZ Bullying Prevention Conference

Giving teachers and school leaders tools to increase the well-being of their students and staff to help minimise toxic environments and bullying.

Bullying is becoming an increasing concern for the wellbeing of children and adults and it’s time to stand up to the bullies. Join us this July for the fourth New Zealand Bullying Prevention Conference where we aim to bring together all stakeholders currently working to prevent bullying in our institutions and communities.
 
Keynote speakers
• Professor Bevan Catley - New Zealand’s leading workplace wellbeing researcher will deliver a keynote speech on Workplace Bullying in New Zealand: What We Know – And What We Need to Know.
• Dr Keri Milne-Ihimaera has accepted an invitation to deliver a keynote. She brings a distinctly Māori perspective as a Doctor of Māori Development and Advancement and School Principal.
 
Overseas speakers
• Indiana University social work colleagues Dr Sheila Dennis and Dr James Brown will deliver virtual speeches.
 
Other speakers
• Other speakers include Dr Charlotte Chambers, Director of Policy and Research for the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists who delivered a keynote at our 2019 Conference. She is the author of a recent report into burnout in the senior medical workforce.
• Rachel Cann a former head of science at an Auckland Secondary School and now a PhD student researching teacher wellbeing will speak on a whole school approach to improving educator wellbeing.
 
Opening speaker
• The Conference will be opened by Professor Mark Barrow, the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Auckland.
