Nicolette Low - Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education)

The Graduate Diploma in Teaching programme has allowed Nicolette to advance her career in Early Childhood Education to the next level in just one year.

“Before starting the Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) programme, I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Korean and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I then moved to South Korea for three years to teach english. During my last two years there, I taught in two different kindergartens and realised I really enjoyed teaching young children. I knew I needed a formal qualification if i wanted to advance my career in early childhood education, so it was a no-brainer to complete the Graduate Diploma in Teaching.

I’ve learned so much about children, different pedagogies, and theories, children’s rights and the significance of building professional relationships.

“One of the best things about studying this Programme is meeting so many likeminded people who share the same passions for empowering children. I’ve made some great lifelong friends who i’m also proud to call my fellow Professional colleagues.

"It’s been great to work with passionate lecturers who have a wealth of experience with teaching tamariki. They have been really supportive and have been instrumental in developing my understanding of early childhood education and care.

“The Programme has made me a better teacher. I’ve learned so much about children, different pedagogies and theories, about children’s rights and the significance of building professional relationships.

"It’s a Programme loaded with lots of information as it’s condensed into one year. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed, but you can reach out to your lecturers and keep them in the loop. The course content was very enjoyable and interesting to learn, I would highly recommend the Programme if you are wanting to take the next steps to advance your career in early childhood education"
