Teaching and social work professions are vitally important for helping
to create a more equitable and just society. Teachers and social workers can
change the world we live in and make it a better, fairer, kinder place for all
of us.

At this faculty you will find staff who genuinely care about
Pasifika students and their family, and want to support them to make a
difference for Pasifika peoples, and all people, in the education and social
work sectors.

We have a wonderful Pasifika Success crew who are here to
support you in your study and to help you get through the difficult times, when
you may be juggling multiple demands. Pasifika Success is a great space where
you can be yourself at university, and can feel free to work in individual or collaborative
ways with others.

In my role as Associate Dean Pasifika I enjoy working with
likeminded Pasifika staff within the faculty and across the university to
enable Pasifika valued knowledge to be embedded in our courses. It’s wonderful
to see Pasifika students do well, and to support them to succeed through commitment
and hard work, but also by utilising their own unique language and cultural
resources which give them awesome cultural advantage in Tāmaki Makaurau.
