Auckland University Global Studies Society (AUGSS)
AUGSS is the official student-led society that represents and advocates for all Global Studies students. It organises a variety of academic, social, and professional development events to foster a strong Global Studies community, including the University-recognised AUGSS Mentorship Programme and NOMAD, the Global Studies Journal.
Join AUGSS to meet some like-minded friends, gain insights from industry professionals, or explore global opportunities across the programme.
Nomad Journal
NOMAD is the Global Studies Journal at the University of Auckland. Edited and curated by Global Studies students for students across UoA, it is a platform for active discourse, debate, and the critical examination of local and global issues. It publishes more than essays -- adapted coursework from your Global Studies degree, area studies scholarship, special topic coursework, creative and visual pieces, and work produced during exchange are all welcome. You do not need to be a Global Studies student to participate. You just need a global lens.
NOMAD's vision is to:
- showcase student's voices concerning local and global issues, whether political, cultural, economic, social, or otherwise
- encourage participation, debate, discourse, and discussion
- welcome unconventional/unheard stories and histories that are relevant to the global landscape
