The Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Auckland has a one-time doctoral scholarship designated for an outstanding new, full-time applicant in the area of dialogic education. The successful applicant will engage with the newly formed Dialogic Education Network in the faculty, led by Professor Ian Wilkinson and Dr Maree Davies.

An ideal research focus might include:

• Discourse and learning in New Zealand classrooms
• Dialogic pedagogy in early childhood settings
• Collaborative argumentation in primary years schooling
• Teacher professional learning and development in dialogic pedagogy
• Automated analysis of classroom discourse

To be competitive, the individual should have practical field and research experience and be seeking an academic career or other professional leadership position. Knowledge, experience and commitment to cultural and linguistic diversity are desirable.
