Tuākana Manaakitanga

Providing support and assistance to our students is a core part of Faculty whakawhanaungatanga.

Greenstone

We understand that the unexpected can happen at any time, and this can impact on the wellbeing of our students and their ability to focus on their studies. Through Tuākana Manaakitanga, we foster whakawhanaungatanga and provide a safe and welcoming environment for students to ask for and receive the support they need.

About the CAI Manaakitanga fund

We can offer immediate, short-term support for all Māori and Pasifika students, and the broader Faculty student body, who are actively enrolled in a Creative Arts and Industries academic programme and facing financial pressures.

The types of immediate support that can be provided includes:

  • Countdown vouchers
  • AT HOP vouchers
  • Food parcels
  • Sanitary products

We can also provide assistance with accessing broader University of Auckland financial and personal support options available to students. This could include:

  • Accommodation costs
  • Student emergency fund
  • Scholarship opportunities
  • Health and counselling
