The BSc/LLB usually takes five years to complete with a single BSc major. You will need to complete 675 points, including:
- 255 points from BSc courses
- 405 points from LLB courses
- 15 points from a General Education course*
*We recommend you choose the Science Waipapa Taumata Rau course (WTRSCI 100) as your General Education course.
In your first year, you will take LAW 121G Law and Society alongside two BSc courses in Semester One and LAW 131 Legal Method, LAW 141 Legal Foundations and two BSc courses in Semester Two. You will also take WTRSCI 100.
You will continue to take a mix of Law courses and Science courses in each of your second, third, fourth and fifth years.
To complete the conjoint within five years, students must undertake a heavier workload than normal.
The LLB includes a combination of core courses, and a wide range of elective courses, including Corporate and Commercial, Public, Criminal, International, Family and Environmental Law.
The BSc includes core courses from your selected major or majors. You may choose to complete a single major or a double major on the BSc side of your conjoint. Specialisations are not available within a conjoint degree. Find out more about planning your BSc conjoint, and access conjoint degree planners.
To continue in the conjoint, you will need to maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.5 each year.
For 2027: Students enrolled in a Health major and intending to apply for clinical selection after their first year should speak with a Student Hub adviser. The requirements of a conjoint degree may affect course planning, workload, or eligibility requirements. Contact your local Student Hub.
Please note that students completing more than one major may have additional courses, extending their studies.
