Sociology and Criminology celebrate the success of our best undergraduate students by awarding the student with the best grades in each of our undergraduate courses with a sociology or criminology-themed book.

Sociology and Criminology Korowai Prize

A prize of $250 awarded to the top Māori graduand in Sociology or Criminology (undergraduate or postgraduate) in each graduation ceremony.

Marsden Grant Masters Scholarship in Ageing and Society

A scholarship of $17,500 plus compulsory fees for masters research on the social, economic and cultural dimensions of population ageing.

National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy Masters Scholarship

A scholarship up of to $10,000 for a research masters student developing contemporary knowledge or investigating the social or naval history of the New Zealand Navy.

Roger Oppenheim Memorial Prize in Sociological Research

A prize of $1,000 for the best sociological thesis or dissertation completed by a student enrolled in a masters degree in Sociology or Criminology.

Sociology and Criminology Korowai Prize

University of Auckland Marsden Grant Masters Scholarship in the Sociology of Energy and Environment

A scholarship of up to $17,000 plus $6,500 towards compulsory tuition fees to support a masters student to undertake research that advances our understanding of energy systems as social systems embedded in entire ways of life.
