“Studying the Bachelor of Design has equipped me with skills in communication, teamwork and public speaking, which I know will be invaluable in pursuing an entrepreneurial career. I love how each tutor has their own unique experience, which they share with us in class. We also gain useful industry insight from guest lecturers. I feel as though we are learning from the best.

“There is so much more to the degree than the classic image of graphic, fashion and product design. I hadn’t even considered design at high school, but speaking to Design staff at Open Day gave me a whole new perspective. My face just lit up when I heard about some of their amazing achievements. After that, I was set on coming to Auckland to join the programme.

“Our lecturers are so supportive and have helped me overcome challenges during my degree. Another highlight is the close-knit community which allows you to get to know the people in your class. We talk with each other, work together and make connections. Many of our students are enrolled in conjoint degrees and find it so refreshing walking into this space where we get to actively collaborate.

“Design at the University of Auckland is what you choose it to be. You are effectively designing your own personalised future to suit you and your passions.”
