“I became a teacher to share the subject I love with students. It’s incredibly fun and rewarding when I can see students’ science knowledge develop, while they grow as people. As a senior science co-ordinator, it is challenging but also interesting to work with other teachers to make sure the various science courses are provided at the highest standard for the students.

“I enrolled in the Master of Education Practice to extend my knowledge of education and pedagogy so I can provide better learning experience for my students. The programme provided this opportunity while I maintained my full-time work responsibilities.

“It can be very easy to just rely on instincts and experiences when making important decisions on our practices in our classes. Studying this masters programme gave me a new perspective on the importance of research-based evidence when making these decisions, and gave me the required practice on how to use research-based evidence appropriately.

“Through the programme’s practice project, I ran an experiment on the use of a digital tool to accelerate a student’s learning. I implemented a special programme using a digital for an underachieving student and analysed the student’s progress. Based on the data, it was only a partial success for improving student’s learning, but it provided unexpected information about the digital tool which I would use to further improve my use of this digital tool.

“I’m glad I chose this programme because it gave me a good basis for further professional developments and education.”
