Learn about the admission application process for the Māori and Pasifika Targeted Entry Scheme to study engineering at the University of Auckland.
The Faculty of Engineering is committed to equity within its degree and actively encourages applications from Māori and Pacific students. The Māori and Pasifika Targeted Entry Scheme (MAPTES) adheres to the Undergraduate Targeted Admission Schemes (UTAS) policy.
Places will be allocated based on academic performance and the applicant's potential to successfully complete the BE(Hons) degree.
If you’ve enrolled under the MAPES entry pathway, you’ll automatically gain access to the the Tuākana Engineering Programme.
Māori and Pacific students wishing to be considered for a place under the MAPTES are required to complete:
- The University of Auckland's online application for admission form.
- Submit either an online application or the following PDF with supporting documents before December 15 every year.
