Te Wiki o te Reo Māori

September marks Mahuru Māori, where we extend the celebration of te reo Māori from Te Wiki o te Reo Māori to the whole of September.

We have exciting events for staff and students to celebrate, from 11 September until 17 September.

  • Visit our display at the Philson Library to learn more about Te Ao Māori. You can read some insightful books about Māori culture and have a look at featured items of cultural significance to Māori.
  • Take a picture in our Te Wiki o te Reo Māori frame located in the Atrium. Don’t forget to tag us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn!
  • Have a look at our e-screens around Grafton, which shows different phrases in te reo Māori that you can learn.
  • Grab a free coffee on Tuesday 12 September from 10am till noon at Superfino! We will run a coffee promotion where the first 200 people to ask for their coffee in te reo Māori will get theirs free. Find the posters at the entrance to the cafe and by the till to practice your order before Tuesday!
