What to expect

We will evaluate your project, and if accepted, will allocate it to students who will spend 8-10 weeks working on the project.

The process

If you are interested in one of the projects listed, you complete and submit the Express Interest form attached to the project.

You can express interest in more than one project, but you must complete and submit the Express Interest form for each project you are interested in.

The information you provide in the form will help us determine if your project is compatible with the academic knowledge and capabilities of our students and our course learning objectives. As part of our evaluation process, a member of our teaching staff may contact you and ask some further questions

We will inform you if your project is accepted, and it will go into a queue to be allocated to a student or student team and scheduled to fit within our academic semesters or quarters.

The student or students will work on your project for 8-10 weeks. Our teaching staff will supervise and support the students throughout the project

The student or students will examine and analyse information/data that you have provided, and where appropriate, access information from publicly available sources. During this period, the student or students may visit you (virtually or in person) and will liaise with key contacts at your organisation.

The student or students will write up their findings in a report and may deliver a summary of their findings in a presentation to both organisation representatives and teaching staff at the end of the project period.

The report and/or presentation form part of the students' graded coursework, providing strong motivation to deliver excellent results.

Information/data confidentiality

The University ensures information/data confidentiality via a rigorous ethics approval process. However, you may want to additionally ensure this through the use an NDA.

Liability

The work of Business School students is offered to organisations on a ‘pro bono’ basis in good faith and free of charge (beyond expenses). No liability for any errors, omissions or consequential problems can be assumed by the University or its students. Organisations are advised to conduct their own independent assessments before implementing any suggestions made by the students.

The students were enthusiastic and proactive in communicating - they were great to work with.
