In 2021, the University of Auckland Business School partnered with Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) to create a one-of-a-kind experience for our future entrepreneurs and champions of commerce.

The BNZ Financial Trading Room gives students access to a state-of-the-art simulated financial trading room, where they can gain first-hand experience of New Zealand and global capital markets.

Located on Level One of the Sir Owen G Glenn Building, the experiential learning space mimics a real trading room environment with world clocks showing the time of the major stock exchanges around the globe and a ticker tape that displays the share price of companies listed on the NZX. The Standard & Poor’s Capital IQ Platform allows access to a vast database of financial and related information.

Business simulations are run and managed by instructors via a control room on to 45 computer terminals in pod layout across five workstations. World-class technology provides students with an authentic real time learning environment to help them master trading and analysis and understanding the complexities of international financial markets.
