About the role
This 13-week paid internship programme gives tertiary students the opportunity to gain practical experience across a range of enabling and non-clinical services within the Counties Manukau District. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, apply their academic knowledge to real projects, and build valuable skills in a healthcare environment.
Successful applicants will join one of the following services:
- AI, Digital Enablers and Integration Process mapping and workflow improvement.
- Clinical Engineering Hospital equipment maintenance, testing and technology.
- Finance Financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
- Health Analytics Data analysis and cardiac network reporting.
- Legal Health law and initiatives for family/domestic violence as a health issue.
- People and Culture (Human Resources) HR processes and employee/service support
About you
You'll be a good fit for this internship if you study Medicine or Biomedical Engineering, Law, Commerce, Business, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Communications or Human Resources.
To be eligible, you must be:
- A NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Currently enrolled in a NZ tertiary Institution and on your second year or above in 2026 OR a recent Law graduate.
- Passionate about learning and developing your professional skills.
- A strong communicator who enjoys working collaboratively.
- Able to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to contribute.

About the role
OMRON is looking for candidates ready to blend technical expertise with commercial and customer engagement skills. This 6‑month program offers hands‑on exposure to automation, AI, IoT, and advanced sensing. With initial training in Sydney, interns gain real customer experience and build future‑proof pathways into solution sales careers.
This is a hands-on 6-month capability-building role, where you’ll apply your technical knowledge in a customer-facing, commercially driven environment.
