The Auckland Property Students’ Society (AUPSS) held its Pathways to Property Panel Discussion and Networking Night on August 24 at the lobby of the Sir Owen G Glenn Building, bringing together students from across the University of Auckland Business School and professionals working in the property industry.

The event was built around a panel discussion on the different routes into a property career, giving students the chance to hear directly from practitioners about how their own careers had developed and what they look for in early-career candidates.

The panel was followed by a networking session, which gave students an informal opportunity to continue the conversation with the panellists and other property professionals in attendance. The event attracted a strong turnout from both students and industry, and the feedback received afterwards was very positive.

Events of this kind form an important part of student life in the Department of Property, complementing classroom learning with direct exposure to the industry and to the people working in it. AUPSS is a student-led society, and the society organises a programme of activities across the year aimed at connecting property students with each other and with the wider profession.
