Insights into our students

There are currently 6,000 equivalent full-time students enrolled at UABS.

They study undergraduate programmes (Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Property) and postgraduate programmes (honours degrees, Business Masters programmes, research programes, professional programmes and PhD).  In the Bachelor of Commerce they major in a wide variety of subjects – Accounting, Business Analytics, Commercial Law, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, International Business, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain Management and Taxation.

Diverse interests

Our students are interested in a wide range of career areas, and finding out about different employers – from start-ups to large graduate recruiters spanning the private, public and NGO sectors.  Many of our students are keen to gain international experience – over 10% of our alumni live overseas.

Work experience

Students are interested in opportunities that they can undertake during their time at University (part- time work, work shadowing, special projects, internships (local and international), voluntary roles); and after their studies through graduate programmes and full-time roles.

Our international students are interested in opportunities to work in New Zealand and in their home countries.  They are particularly keen to build up NZ-based work experience while they are studying here.

Good timing

Our final year undergraduate students finish their courses in June and November.  Our postgraduate and Graduate School of Management students finish their courses at different times, and regularly become available for employment.
