• Become familiar with your ID Number and UPI (unique personal identifier). Be sure to carry your ID card with you.
• Check your student email and CANVAS (once a day, if you can).
• Log in to Student Services Online (SSO) to find your timetables, grades, enrolment status, fees and payments.
• Complete the Academic Integrity Course on CANVAS.
• Complete the Diagnostic English Language Needs Assessment (DELNA).

• Register for upcoming events that interest you.

  Here's a guide on how to navigate campus:
  Every room on campus are identified using two numbers, for example, 260-115. The first number (260) being the building number, and the second number (115) being the room. The first digit of the room number indicates the floor level. In this case 260-115 is located on Level 1. Please note: Level 1 is not always the level where you enter the building.

Student support advisers

We understand that your university experience involves more than just academic study. Personal challenges, wellbeing concerns, financial pressures, family responsibilities and unexpected life events can all affect your student journey. Our role is to provide a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, valued and understood.

The Business School has dedicated student support advisers who provide personal support throughout your studies. These conversations are completely confidential and are not recorded on your academic transcript. Some of the issues you can speak with a student support adviser about might be (but are not limited to):

• Settling into life at university
• Finding your community and making friends
• Feeling homesick or lonely
• Understanding how university works and what you need to do well
• Managing stress and study pressures
• Planning how to succeed academically
• Simply talking through a challenge
• Figuring out where to get the right help, whether you need mental health support, academic advice, or help with financial issues.

We encourage you to reach out early. You don't need to wait until a situation becomes overwhelming before seeking support.

Remember, you don’t have to face challenges alone – we're here to help you every step of the way.

Business School Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The Business School has its own Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, chaired by the Associate Dean Equity. This committee works to promote a fair, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students and staff. The Associate Dean also represents the Business School on the university-wide Equity Action Network.
