Pricing and funding with case mix models

The aim of this workshop was to describe and explore current case mix costing systems in NZ and their use in funding. The workshop was designed to range from specifics (a cost system), through the process of compiling national case weights and their role in activity based funding, to a general perspective on how these were used inside a District Health Board.

This was the Business School Health and Well-being Research Beacon’s third transdisciplinary research ideas event (RIWF III) for all those interested in connecting and collaborating under the Beacon’s theme. In this panel discussion, leading researchers across a number of disciplines and faculties came together to discuss ideas for research and transdisciplinary collaboration on ‘Future of well-being’ and ‘Infusing cultural intelligence in healthcare’.

Health and well-being research features strongly in Taumata Teitei. In this online event, each presenter had four minutes to make a pitch about their research and a proposed research idea.
