What is the Asia Pacific Digital Sustainability Index?

Defined as the creation and use of digital resources to maximise the value delivered to the community today and in the future, the main goal of the Digital Sustainability Index is to raise awareness of the increasing importance of these efforts for companies, government, and communities.

The Index identifies companies and countries ahead of the digital sustainability curve in Asia Pacific and aims to help remove barriers to sustainable innovation.

Rolled out across the region, this research demonstrates the value of digital sustainability, while also highlighting standout businesses, governments and those making a real difference in Asia Pacific. It also provides strategies for businesses to strengthen their efforts.

AI Digital Sustainability and Regulatory Intelligence Consultant Agent (AIDSRICA)

AIDSRICA is an AI-powered decision-support tool developed at the Centre of Digital Enterprise (CODE), in partnership with Sarvesh Shaha, that assesses digital initiatives for regulatory obligations, ESG and carbon risk, and digital maturity — producing an executive-ready report in about 40 seconds.

Grounded in the Digital Sustainability Index framework (Ramachandran & Oshri, 2022), AIDSRICA runs every initiative through an eight-stage analysis pipeline. It benchmarks digital maturity against national indicators from the ITU, World Bank, OECD, and the EU's DESI; maps the initiative against 27 regulatory frameworks including the GDPR, EU AI Act, ISO 42001, and IFRS S2; quantifies carbon footprint using published emission factors (DEFRA 2025, IEA grid intensities); and generates a prioritised implementation roadmap with effort, cost, and urgency estimates.

What sets AIDSRICA apart is its commitment to evidence: every quantitative claim in the report is verified against a corpus of more than 14,000 source passages from regulatory documents, sustainability frameworks, and academic research, and labelled by its level of grounding. Scores, carbon figures, and regulatory triggers are computed deterministically — the AI writes the narrative, not the numbers — making every analysis reproducible.

The tool is free to use, requires no account, and lets users export board-pack PDFs, Word reports, and iXBRL files for climate disclosures.
