Hannah Trotman had enjoyed studying accounting at school, but wasn’t sure where she wanted to go with it until she was in the third year of her BCom, when she started researching available internships. Supported by her scholarships during her postgraduate studies, she decided to pursue a career in accounting, which led to her employment at KPMG in the Enterprise Accounting division.
“When I first came to the University, I didn’t know many people. However, I soon connected with my peers and made some life-long friends, which was especially true for my honours year. I also enjoyed having the opportunity to be an Accounting 102 tutor during my honours year. My dissertation supervisor also made my experience enjoyable and strongly influenced my choice to return to study my masters. The scholarships also made this choice easier.”
