How did you get involved with Huckleberry – what drew you to the company?

“As part of our 2121 Group investment vision, my partner Mat (a fellow Business School alum) and I focus on long-term investments in brands that have the potential to outlive us and create a lasting impact. Huckleberry's commitment to sustainability and high-quality organic products resonated with our investment philosophy.

“At the time, the grocery industry was undergoing a commerce commission review, which presented an opportunity for positive change. Furthermore, Mat's personal experience with coeliac disease heightened our interest in the brand, as it offered products that catered to individuals with specific dietary needs.

“Together, our shared passion for sustainability, health-conscious living, and the potential to make a meaningful difference in the industry led us to seize the opportunity and become involved in Huckleberry.”

How has the MBA made an impact on your career?

“The MBA has fast-tracked my career trajectory, equipping me with the knowledge and skills and filling in the blank to take on merger and acquisition and senior management tasks at 2121 Group and Huckleberry.

“The programme has also connected me with lifelong friends and like-minded professionals from diverse industries, creating opportunities for collaboration and mutual growth.

“The MBA taught me the importance of leveraging the unique strengths of individuals from different backgrounds to foster highly innovative solutions.

“The programme emphasised the significance of strategic planning and forward-thinking to navigate the ever-changing business landscape and stay ahead of the competition.

“Lastly, the MBA has heightened my understanding of the ethical implications of business decisions, ensuring that I operate businesses with integrity and social responsibility.”
