Histology services

We provide high-quality, reliable histology services and specialised training to staff and students at the University of Auckland, as well as external academic and commercial users. Our focus is on delivering accurate, timely, and reproducible results to support research, teaching, and industry applications.

About the Histology Laboratory

The Histology Laboratory, within the Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging at the University of Auckland, is a comprehensive, fee-for-service facility supporting a wide range of clinical and non-clinical research and teaching activities.

The Histology Service workflow is the standard requirement for all research, clinical, non-clinical and commercial sample processing to ensure operational alignment and technical oversight.

Our Laboratory is a specialised facility receiving samples from academic researchers, research organisations, and commercial partners. We offer a diverse portfolio of histological techniques delivered by experienced staff, maintaining high scientific standards and ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes across all projects.

The facility also undertakes work involving commercially sensitive materials and intellectual property. We adhere to strict confidentiality standards and institutional policies to ensure the protection of proprietary information and research outputs.

Pricing for external users and all general enquiries are managed by Dr Farqad Abdulqader. Quotations for grant applications are available upon request. Please allow up to two weeks for preparation of detailed quotes.
