2024 School of Nursing postgraduate orientation and support sessions

We are pleased to offer orientation training and fundamental academic skills for new and existing postgraduate nursing students.

These sessions are run in two parts, Part 1 and Part 2. There is a mix of day-time and evening options for students to choose from.

Attendance is highly recommended for all new postgraduate nursing students and encouraged for existing postgraduate students who wish to develop their academic skills further.

Do it Write Together drop-in sessions

In addition, the postgraduate team at the School of Nursing will be running weekly student drop-in sessions for assignment and academic writing support. 

Part 1: Orientation to postgraduate nursing study

In this session, students will be introduced to key study skills, resources, and support systems available while studying with Waipapa Taumata Rau, The University of Auckland.

Choose one of the following Part 1 sessions:

Part 2: Orientation to key academic skills

Part 2 focuses on key academic skills to facilitate student success in the academic writing component of their postgraduate journey. This session includes topics such as: How to analyse your assignment question, literature searching, the assignment process and structure, active reading, and APA referencing.
