About our department

Our section's goal is the application and promotion of epidemiology, biostatistics and related sciences to improve the health of individuals, communities and populations both locally and globally.

The section includes University-funded staff, research fellows and assistants and postgraduate students. A number of staff members are epidemiologists and biostatisticians, however the section also has members with expertise in environmental health, healthcare quality improvement, health informatics and evidence-based healthcare.

The teaching, research and service interests of members of the Section of Epidemiology and Biostatistics are broad, covering topics from global public and environmental health problems through to clinical practice improvement.
