These platforms bring together equipment, services, and technical expertise to support excellence in biomedical, clinical and translational science.
Te Ira Kawai, Auckland Regional Biobank (ARB)
Te Ira Kawai provides ethically collected human tissue and clinical data to support approved medical research. Its culturally informed governance ensures appropriate
stewardship and high-quality biobanking practice.
Biomedical Imaging Research Unit (BIRU)
The Biomedical Imaging Research Unit provides advanced microscopy, flow cytometry, and imaging mass spectrometry technologies. It offers expert training and access to widefield, confocal, light-sheet, and super-resolution imaging, as well as cell-sorting capabilities.
CAMRI, Centre for Advanced MRI
CAMRI offers state-of-the-art MRI services for clinical and research imaging using 1.5T and 3T scanners. Its accredited facilities support high quality imaging studies with specialist expertise.
Grafton Clinical Genomics
Grafton Clinical Genomics is an accredited facility offering advanced genomics technologies, including next-generation sequencing and MALDI-TOF. It supports clinical, translational, and precision medicine research through a joint University, Health New Zealand | Te Toka Tumai Auckland platform.
Health Data Platform
The Health Data Platform provides secure access pathways and technical infrastructure for research-ready, de-identified, and linked clinical, population, and research datasets. It supports data governance and enables the safe use of health-related data for research.
IMAC, Immunisation Advisory Centre
IMAC delivers nationwide immunisation education and evidence-based vaccine information for New Zealand’s health workforce. It provides training, resources, and clinical guidance to support vaccine uptake and public health outcomes.
Mass Spectrometry Hub (MaSH)
MaSH provides access to a broad suite of mass spectrometry instruments and analytical expertise. It supports interdisciplinary research through training, data analysis tools, and a collaborative MS community.
Vernon Jansen Unit (VJU)
The Vernon Jansen Unit is an animal research facility that supports high-quality, ethical biomedical research across multiple disciplines. It also hosts specialist platforms, including the Neurobehavioural Unit for neuroscience research.
Infinity X
Infinity X is the University’s booking and billing system for shared research platforms, allowing researchers to reserve instruments, request services, and manage project linked funding.
