How sound influences people

We are investigating how sound influences people.

Two women talking on couch.

What's involved?

This is an one-off, in person study that should take no more than one hour to complete.

During the study, you will be asked to add together numbers. A soundtrack may be played at a volume similar to people’s common speech level. We will ask you questions about your perceptions of the sounds and measure your heart rate and skin conductance via a clip on your fingertip.

Please note that to participate in this study, you will need to come to the Hearing Laboratory at the University of Auckland's Grafton Campus.

Your privacy will be protected. We will not keep your name or other identifying information with the data, and when we publish findings, we will not reveal anything that could identify you.

You will receive one $50 worth voucher after the experiment as a token of our gratitude.
