NOURISH-EDS Study

This study aims to understand dietary intake and gut symptoms in people with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD).

What's involved?

Taking part in this study involves two parts:

Part 1: Online survey

  • Complete an online survey about your eating behaviours, gut symptoms, and overall health (approx 20–30 minutes to complete).

Part 2: Three-day food and symptom record

  • Record the food and drinks you consume over three days.
  • Record any gut symptoms you experience during this time.

Participants will receive a $40 voucher as a thank you for taking part.

Eligibility criteria

To participate, you must:

  • be aged 16 years or older
  • have a diagnosis of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) or hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD).

Who may not be eligible?

You may not be able to take part if you:

  • rely on tube feeding for all of your nutrition needs
  • are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Unfortunately, we are only able to include people with a confirmed diagnosis of hEDS or HSD. People with a suspected diagnosis are not eligible at this stage.
