Nutrition Knowledge and Information Sources Among Caregivers of Adolescents With ADHD

This study aims to understand how caregivers of adolescents with ADHD access nutrition information and support their adolescent's nutritional needs.

Supporting the nutritional needs of adolescents with ADHD can be challenging, and caregivers often turn to a range of sources for information and advice. This study aims to understand caregivers' nutrition knowledge, where they get information, and how it influences food choices and eating habits.

What's involved?

Taking part involves completing an online survey about your experiences supporting the nutrition of an adolescent with ADHD. You'll be asked to:

  • complete an electronic consent form
  • complete an online survey about you and your adolescent, your nutrition knowledge, where you get nutrition information, and how it influences your food choices, dietary habits, and approaches to supporting nutrition
  • share any additional comments or experiences if you wish.

The information collected will help researchers develop practical nutrition resources for caregivers of adolescents with ADHD.

Eligibility criteria

To participate, you must:

  • be aged 18 years or older
  • be the caregiver of an adolescent aged 12–18 years with diagnosed or suspected ADHD
  • live in Aotearoa New Zealand
  • be able to complete an online survey in English.
