"The Bachelor of Health Sciences is such a diverse pathway that has prepared me for working life in numerous ways.

The courses I’ve taken have equipped me with
essential workforce skills, including strong writing and communication
abilities, collaborative working with others and the development of critical
thinking – all of which are crucial to what I hope to do in the future.

“Everyone at FMHS is incredibly welcoming and friendly, which has made connecting with others not only easy, but a lot of fun. There is a strong sense of community and support wherein everyone is willing to help each other.

“I knew I wanted to study something related to biology and people, but I wasn’t exactly sure what direction to take. Taking POPLHLTH 111 in my first year grabbed my attention as it covered topics not typically taught in high school. It felt like the perfect way to blend my interests while also contributing to positive change, which was always something I wanted to do.

“My main piece of advice is to reach out when you need help. The lecturers and tutors are always so willing to offer support. While it can seem scary to ask for help, they are extremely approachable and genuinely want to assist their students.

"Reach out to your peers because it not only builds a sense of community, but they are all going through the same thing you are. Reach out and join clubs too, because it can enhance your university experience while meeting like-minded individuals!”
